I was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2004 and believe I am alive today because of the work I do with Dr. Bazzan. He understands the importance of treating the whole person, not just the part of the anatomy affected by disease. In one instance, he took the time to diagnose and treat an unrelated lung problem— the kind of problem I think might easily have been overlooked or downplayed by a physician focusing only on my cancer.

Consistent with his holistic approach, Dr. Bazzan is open to the use of alternative therapies in combination with more conventional ones. He has been completely supportive of my use of Vitamin C and other vitamin therapies to protect my immune system and improve my quality of life during chemotherapy, which is a recommendation I received elsewhere when my disease was first diagnosed. He is extremely knowledgeable about the latest developments in both conventional and holistic medicine and brings wonderful insight and passion to the treatment of his patients, all of whom he obviously cares about deeply.

Addressing the Whole Person to Recover Quality of Life

I came to Dr. Bazzan and FWSI in the fall of 2008 with a lengthy history of serious health issues that included ovarian cancer, Lyme disease, migraine headaches, neuropathic pain, and recurrent mesothelioma (a deadly form of lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure). Individually, these issues ranged from troublesome to downright life-threatening, and in combination, they were greatly impacting my quality of life. I had no strength, no energy, and no stamina, and suffered with chronic pain and shortness of breath. I had been through the full range of conventional treatments, and was out of options for improving my overall status and well-being any further.

Desperate for a better life and increased function, I happened to read about Dr. Bazzan and FWSI, and made an initial appointment. From the moment I walked into the clinic, I knew that fate had blessed me with the answer to my problems. I was greeted warmly by the staff, all of whom seemed happy to be working there. The patients in the clinic all smiled at me as well. There was none of the tension I usually associate with the doctors’ offices and infusion clinics. Dr. Bazzan spent a long time with me going over my records and my history and discussing my objectives. He made certain to clarify anything I didn’t understand, and provided me with reading materials to help explain his methods and treatment rationales.

I have been receiving twice weekly infusions at FWSI for nearly two months now. Dr. Bazzan has seen me in follow up to go over the results of my laboratory tests, and adjusted my regimen accordingly. Unlike the other physicians I have seen, he does not focus on a single aspect of my health, but rather treats me as a whole person with my own unique mixture of individual health issues, and he addresses all those issues (and some I wasn’t even aware of!). The treatment regimen he has designed has already yielded results. I have more energy, less difficulty breathing, and feel better now than I have in a very long time! He and his staff treat me with kindness and concern, and I actually look forward to my clinic appointments. The results I have gotten have impressed my husband so much that he too is now a patient!

In March 2002, I became a patient of Dr. Bazzan. I was experiencing chronic episodes of severe involuntary movement disorder as a result of pesticide poisoning. I also had osteoporosis.

Thriving Beyond Pre-Menopausal Symptoms

I had all of the pre-menopausal symptoms and I was miserable. A friend in Arizona told me that there was a doctor in my area that could help me with these symptoms and I would feel great. I told her I was fine and that I could deal with the hot flashes, mood swings, waking up tired in the morning, and more. My friend did not give up on me and would not let me be a martyr. Overcoming Fatigue and Improving Quality of Life

I sustained a spinal cord injury in 2005. I was blessed with a strong recovery neurologically, but no matter what steps I took, I could not overcome the overwhelming fatigue that remained. I received no answers from the medical community, so I began to investigate through the Internet any and all information that could reveal a possible explanation. I was fifty- two years old at the time, and the one common theme that evolved in my research was hormone deficiency.

Corrective actions that I found for hormone deficiency mostly involved pharmaceuticals, and ALL of which presented side effects that were not within my risk tolerance. So I continued my research and discovered a subject that was foreign to me at the time called “bioidentical hormone replacement.”

That was what led me to Dr. Bazzan. Life as I knew it has never been the same. His comprehensive evaluation revealed that I was severely deficient in testosterone, and it was his opinion that was what was causing my extreme fatigue. He provided me with testosterone supplementation the same day and within one week not only was my fatigue gone, but my energy levels, mental clarity, and sex life had returned to levels of when I was in my early thirties. This is no exaggeration! The supplementation I receive lasts for about six months and provides hormone levels that are constant and specific to my body chemistry. I have had no side effects. I continue receiving this therapy today as it has had a major impact on the quality of my life.
